Lightweight Innovations, Aspiring for the Skies | HRC Stars at China Airshow

Event|2024.11.13

From November 12th to 17th, the 15th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "China Airshow") kicked off at the Zhuhai International Airshow Center. This spectacular event, themed "Innovation Leading, Collaboration Integrating, Dreams Taking Flight," attracted a total of 1,022 enterprises from 47 countries and regions. From the world’s first lunar far-side samples retrieved by Chang’e-6 to the simultaneous display of stealth fighters J-20, J-35A, and Su-57, cutting-edge aerospace technologies took center stage, drawing global attention. HRC, a global leading composite solution provider, once again stared at the China Airshow and unveiled its latest innovations in aviation, capturing significant interest from industry professionals and exhibitors.

At this year's airshow, HRC debuted multiple China-first lightweight composite technologies and products tailored for cutting edge practical sectors like commercial aircraft and low-altitude mobility vehicles. The company highlighted its full-cycle capabilities spanning material R&D, mass production, and recycling, reinforcing its role as a Tier-1 partner for carbon fiber components and airframe structures.

Among the various new products, the composite skid landing gear has attracted attention from professionals. Designed for medium-large vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft with 600-700kg takeoff weight, this lightweight universal solution features a bow beam, skid tube, and metal joints. Utilizing high-performance prepregs and autoclave process combining memory air bag and steel molding process, it achieves a 30% weight reduction versus metal counterparts while enhancing energy absorption and load capacity.

During the Airshow, HRC signed agreements with FL ARI Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering Co., Ltd. and Dream Fly Aerospace Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., committing to deepen collaboration in design, manufacturing, assembly, and market expansion. These partnerships aim to accelerate sustainable aviation development and foster a globally competitive low-altitude ecosystem driven by Chinese innovation.

In an exclusive interview at the airshow's official live broadcast, an old friend of China Airshow, HRC Vice President Yihong Ge emphasized the transformative potential of the "low-altitude economy" for China's aviation sector. "Carbon fiber composites are pivotal to achieving lightweight air mobility solutions," he noted. "As one of the earliest movers in this field, HRC has contributed to over 80% of flagship low-altitude projects, including collaborations with Xpeng AeroHT, Yifei Technology, Yitong UAV, AVIC XAC Commercial Aircraft, Air White Whale, Range Aviation, BEIFLY and others. Our R&D and production volume have surged several folds this year, with multiple debut models showcased here in Zhuhai, and the strong momentum in the market is very encouraging. "

Positioned at the forefront of aviation innovation, HRC achieved remarkable success at this year's airshow and will continue to leverage its expertise in advanced composites to deliver transformative solutions. By integrating cutting-edge materials with engineering excellence, the company remains committed to empowering the aerospace industry’s evolution.
